What Counts as a New Casino in the UK?

A 2026 grant is the same rulebook with a shorter file. The duties start on day one. What is missing is the record of how the operator has behaved under them.

How to Check a New UK Casino Before You Deposit
Use the public register, not the advert. Take the account number from the footer, open that holder, and read four things: the status word, a casino activity, its start date, and your exact domain. If one of them fails, stop.
- Footer number. If you cannot find an account number, you cannot check the rest.
- Status. Active is the word you want. Pending is not a live grant.
- Casino activity. A betting line is not a casino line. Read the start date, not the logo.
- Exact domain. The address in your browser must sit on that same account. The Commission says businesses supply those names and it does not guarantee them.

If the domain is not on that account, stop before the homepage matters. The landing page can say anything. The account number is the part the Commission’s file has to answer for.
Credit cards have been barred for British remote gambling since April 2020, so “no credit cards” is an old rule, not a sign of a fresh site. Identity checks are a licence condition too. A promise of “no ID” is a reason to leave.

Dabble UK and Dabble Pty Are Not the Same Licence

Five details sit outside the columns. silkbet.com is Inactive beside two live Silkbet domains. Dabble’s sanctions page shows none recorded, and the other seven sanctions pages were not opened. The Horizons ancillary remote permission ran from 12 April 2018 until surrender on 6 February 2026. Betty also has a linked gambling-software line from 1 April 2026. Dabble’s virtual-event betting starts on 22 January 2026, the same day as the casino line.

What a 40% Remote Gaming Duty Means for a 2026 Book
Remote Gaming Duty is 40% of profits from remote gaming with UK persons for periods on or after 1 April 2026. It was 21% from 1 April 2019, and 15% before that. A casino permission that started in 2026 has no full year of casino profit under the old 21% rate. That is pressure, not a verdict on any named firm.
On £100 of remote-gaming profit the duty is now £40. At 21% the same profit would have carried £21. Fixed-odds betting stays on General Betting Duty at 15%, so a book that is mostly sport does not feel the casino line in the same way. Freeplays can count in the profit sum. I am not forecasting that Betty, Silkbet, Proper Bet, UK Digital Bookmakers, Clobet, Midnite, Dabble or Horizons will close.

What a New Casino Bonus Is Worth After the 10x Cap
No operator terms were opened, so no brand offer is printed. The strip below is the legal ceiling under LCCP Social Responsibility Code 5.1.1, in force since 19 January 2026, applied to a hypothetical £10 of bonus funds. 10x on £10 is £100 of stakes. That is a ceiling, not a gift.
A welcome offer is the opening deal. A deposit match is tied to money the player puts in. Free spins are a count, and each spin has its own stake in the terms, so the headline number is not the value. None of those labels is attached to Betty, Silkbet or anyone else here.

Both were Active on 22 October 2026. The address in the browser still has to match that pair. The Commission says businesses supply those names and it does not guarantee them.
The 8 is not a safety mark. I did not open the sanctions tab, the terms, the lobby or the cashier. There is no published welcome, no timed withdrawal and no studio list for this holder. The domain file is the part worth reading twice. silkbet.bet and silkbet.co.uk were Active. silkbet.com was Inactive. If the address in the browser is the inactive string, it is not the live pair on this account, and the check stops. Sanctions, terms and the cashier were not opened.
A book that starts casino and fixed-odds betting together does not pay Remote Gaming Duty on every pound of profit. Gaming profit is taxed at 40% from 1 April 2026.
